Bollywood movies with Kashmir based stories really have an enchanting aura that drags you to Jammu & Kashmir in dreams. ‘Kashmir ki Kali’ is one of my favorite Bollywood movie that still emanates an emotional feeling surrounded by Kashmir’s charismatic lakes, gardens and snow-clad mountains.

Because of the recent chaos occurring there in conflicts regarding boundary lines, the place Jammu & Kashmir has become a dream vacation for most of us. While Kashmir valley is famous for its charismatic mountainous landscape, Jammu's numerous shrines attract a lot of Hindu pilgrims every year. Ladakh, also known as "Little Tibet", is renowned for its remote, cold, dry, hilly deserts and Buddhist culture.
Dal Lake and the Mughal gardens of Kashmir are the highly cherished dream destination of many. As they pervade a romantic semblance, they are mainly chosen for taking wooing, love scenes in Bollywood movies. The famous traditional Shikara (rowing boat) in the lakes of Kashmir is another symbol for portraying Kashmiri beauty. Florist Shikaras floating in Dal and Nageen Lakes are a colorful sight amidst blue green waters. Mughal gardens on the banks of these lakes also pave way for enjoying the salubrious climate of Kashmir with water terraces, cascades, flower gardens and the hue changing Chinar trees under Himalayan mountains.

Once he wrote while sitting in a garden ~ If there is any paradise on earth, it is here, it is here, it is here. Flowers that blossom in Kashmir have a shiny bright color that reverberate the beauty of Kashmir. If plenty of lotuses bloom in Nageen lakes during season, the famous Indira Gandhi Memorial tulip garden hosts an array of vivid variety of tulips planted row-wise. The romantic songs of Silsila movie were shot here in the backdrop of these lovely tulips.
